OUR STORY

Many years ago, Brian and Tom would patronize a local watering hole in town to unwind after a long day.  After a pint or two, theological questions and debates would ensue, and an edifying mentorship emerged. â€‹It was not long after this that a third member joined the group. Known affectionately as the Tucson Bard, Jeremiah was the first of many who joined Brian and Tom for fellowship and beer.

After a brief stint in Phoenix (2008-2011) the McKinley's moved back to Tucson to find that the group had grown and continued to meet regularly. To increase the frequency of our fellowship, Garage Nights were created where the McKinley's would host a larger group at their rental home.

In 2014, the McKinley's purchased a home that allowed for a permanent and more appealing venue to host  these fellowship nights. After several months of renovating the former carport/workshop, McKinley's Irish Pub was created (click HERE). What began as a weekly meeting between two kindred spirits has grown via the grace of God to include over 70 members... to the King!

I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now...Come further up, come further in!  â€•  C.S. LewisThe Last Battle

McKinley's Bottle

There once was a lad named McKinley

Who needed some space for assembly

 Where congenial men

Could sip whiskey and gin

And smoke with their brothers so friendly.

When there's naught left to pour from the store,

They'd long for a yet-to-come shore

Where all the twice born

Find no thistle, no thorn

And the vessel is full evermore.

Legend tells of a graced angel's share

When the vapor of spirits go - where?

In the old dies the pain,

Poured anew to sustain

Refreshed with abundance to spare.

In this bottle mixed flavors will marry

So the "end" is not one that is scary

As long as your friends'

Liquid tithe never ends

And together in Him we be merry!

Thus men will still cheer "To the King!"

"To the Tucson Bard" glasses cling.

Further up, further in,

Narnia and the North, once again

with good smokes and our suds, we'll Yum Sing!*
